Welcome to San Jose

Club ATL Lounge $50 per person

Costa Rica- a place I decided I wanted to visit sometime this summer for just a weekend at a resort and now here I am trying to re-plan and research the country and where to go, what to do under these time constraints. Apparently, there's not much to do or explore in CR so it ended up working out and I didn't have to fight over activities.

So here we are, spending the next 4 days here in the capital city of San Jose and then heading over to La Fortuna for the remainder of the trip.

Last night- my cousin was hungry and we found a restaurant about 10 mins away from the apartment that was still opened at 930 pm. Great ambiance, Fresh food with micro greens grown onsite, security at the door. Yes, it was an expensive restaurant, but yes, it was good.

Furca: Farm to table

Duck confit $12.450

Beef carpaccio $8.4

Bread $3.675

Peppers& goat Cheese $8.1

Today, we slowly woke up and headed to a little local joint for breakfast called Kam's Bakery. Has some healthy juices, smoothies and bowls and then has omelettes. Not bad.

Kam's Breakfast and Bakery

Cappuccino $1. 800

Puerto Viejo omelette (Sweet) $5.5 00

Parfait Kam $2.000

Ensalada garbanzo $1.000

After walking around their "downtown" which isn't really much going on down there, we met up with Urban Tours for a 3-hour food tour.

So the food tour was great. It wasn't as expected. We spent a lot of time trying several fruit at the Farmer's Market and then headed to the Central Market to quickly learn about herbs and try an ice cream. There wasn't much city tour that occurred so I'm glad we still have a private tour on Saturday. After the markets, we headed to a coffee shop where we sat and made empanadas then down for a coffee tasting. I would recommend it most certainly.

Urban Tours

$26 per person

Although we were full off everything, I still wanted to go eat at Hotel Presidente. They were supposed to be known for their cocktails, intimate setting and beautiful rooftop. The service was great, ambiance was great but cocktails were depressing. The menu was semi-limited, but it would be a nice date night or happy hour for some.

Hotel Presidente:

Blackberry Mojito $3.700

Sparkling water1$.707

Truffle fries $3.373

Tuna Risotto $8.414

Mushroom Burger $7.764

Bread pudding $3.861

We did visit Walmart after to pick up a few items and back to the apt to rest up for our big tour tomorrow.
